What is the difference between beeswax and paraffin? Paraffin is a petroleum product which is often colored and scented when used in the candle industry. Beeswax, naturally harvested from the honeycomb, has been regarded as a premium wax for candles. This natural, organic product is considerably more expensive than paraffin, yet yields a higher quality candle.
Are any of your candles scented?
Other than the natural fragrance of the beeswax that we use, we do not add any fragrances or scents to our candles.
Why do some candles seem to burn clean and others give off a black smoke?
The burn of a candle is a function of the wax and size and type of wick. Generally speaking, a smoking candle is a sign of an inefficient burn. Most often this problem can be corrected by trimming the wick. We recommend a length of a ¼" for the wicks of our MomentMark™ candles.
How do I care for my candle?
Your Marklin candle is decorated with select waxes and/or genuine gold or silver. To maintain the color integrity of the decoration please keep your candle out of direct sunlight and ultraviolet light. Store your candle in a cool, dry place.
How do I go about customizing my order?
Marklin is a family owned business which prides itself on outstanding customer service. While we welcome emails we also encourage you to call to discuss a custom order.
Do you charge a design fee?
A modest design fee may be assessed if useable electronic artwork is not supplied for a custom design.
What digital forms of artwork can you accept?
We can use any of the following file formats: tiff, eps, jpeg, ai, cdr, gif. Our preference would be clean line art.
Are your candles returnable?
While we unconditionally guarantee the quality of our candles against any defect, customized candles are not returnable. Please see our return policy for details.
Can I have an order shipped to multiple addresses?
At present our shopping cart does not allow multiple addresses to be entered. Feel free to call in the order, or place separate orders for each address.
